New Phone
Not to long ago, I realized that I just do not use my cell phone. Sure, it's nice to have in case of an emergency, and occasionally I do call people, but I just don't talk on the phone much anymore. In my ever-continuing desire to determine what is and is not important to me, I realized that what I could use much more than a good voice service is a good data service. Something that would let me get e-mail, browse the web, etc. from anywhere. After seeing my boss's phone, and seeing the great deals I could get for switching plans, I realized it was time to upgrade.
So I got a new phone, a Cingular 8125. It's a Pocket PC device that runs Windows Mobile Edition 2005. So I can now get e-mail anywhere, browse the web from anywhere, and even blog from anywhere (in fact, I'm typing this on my phone right now). I must say I am extremely impressed with this device, especially the full slide out keyboard. I also think that having a personal device will help me stay organized and keep from forgetting things. After all, I'm not as young as I used to be. :)
So anyway, if you're looking for a new phone, I highly recommend this device. It does everything I want and then some.

Perdue (not the chicken company)
Am I the only one who is getting really sick and tired of Sonny Perdue's television campaign advertisements? I think I have seen a total of one television advertisement for Mark Taylor over the past month, whereas I see at least two television advertisements for Sonny Perdue every night. Thank God for Tivo, so I don't actually have to watch them anymore.
What I really want to know is why is it so important to advertise that Perdue is married and has a family? I mean I'm happy for him and all, but that really has no bearing on his ability to govern the state of Georgia. I know he's trying to flaunt his self-proclaimed "moral superiority" (a disturbing trend that seems to be increasing in popularity among candidates lately), but it really is getting quite old. Hey Sonny, here's an idea... If you really want to show your Christian love, how about stopping the education cuts you have made every year since being elected? How about stopping the cuts to the HOPE scholarship? How about actually working to improve the education system in Georgia (second worst in the country) so that our children have a chance to succeed regardless of how wealthy their parents are?
Ah well, maybe one of these days things will change, and we won't have to put up with these shallow advertisements about moral and ethical superiority. Maybe one day elections will again be about the issues.
